How to Play

Play Aliens Attack online for free. Aliens Attack is an alien shooting video game where you automatically fire an unlimited number of bullets but must avoid the shots from aliens while hitting them. Collect medals to buy upgrades, fight through over 100 enemies throughout the level and win 3 boss battles to beat the game. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

Starting the Game

Select the green PLAY button in the center of the welcome screen to start the game.
The welcome screen also has the following buttons
- sound control in the upper right corner
- language select in the upper left corner
- hero select in the left edge of the screen half way between the top and bottom
- Your web browser automatically stores your high score, unlocked heroes, and how many metals you have saved up.
- Game Controls
  - Desktop
    - Your character automatically shoots an endless stream of bullets directly upward.
    - Use your left and right arrow keys to move your character left and right to shoot aliens while avoiding their shots.
    - You can also use your mouse left click on the left or right sides of the screen, but the arrow keys offer more granular control.
    - Touchscreen devices
      - Touch the screen with a finger to use it like a mouse.
      - Across the top of the screen it shows how many aliens you have defeated, how many medals you have, your health status, and your level progress.
      - The game has sound control and pause buttons in the upper right corner.
      - The lower right has a grenade button if you have grenades enabled and available.
      - Game Play
        Enemies
        Most aliens take at least a couple shots to beat.
        Aliens typically come one or two at a time in small waves, though in some cases up to four enemies can come at once.
        The vast majority of aliens shoot directly downward, though some have a spread shot.
        After beating the second boss the enemies become much harder as some throw grenades while others shoot lasers. When the grenades are thrown they blow up if you walk near them or are somewhat close to their blast area when the timer runs out on them.
        The game has 3 boss battles.
        Before each boss battle it states BOSSBATTLE in the center of the screen.
        The first boss appears after 43 enemies.
        The second boss appears after 89 enemies.
        The third boss appears after 122 enemies.
        Dying
        You start the game with 3 full hearts.
        Each time you get hit you lose a heart.
        If you die you start back at the beginning of the level.
        You can restore an empty heart container by shooting a white first aid kit tossed onto the level when some aliens are shot.
        Upgrades
        You can buy upgrades by collecting metals that are dropped by enemies.
        Better Gun costs 300.
        It allows you to fire more rapidly to do damage to enemies more quickly.
        This gun lasts throughout the duration of your game.
        Armor costs 250.
        It gives you the equivalent of 3 extra heart containers at the start of the game.
        Unlike ordinary heart containers the armor can’t be refilled, so you should try to make it past the first boss battle and hopefully past the second before getting hit at all if you want to beat the game.
        Grenade Pack costs 150.
        You can throw grenades by clicking on the button in the lower right of the screen.
        This feature is easier to use on a touchscreen device than on desktop, unless you use the arrow keys with one hand and the mouse with the other hand.
        Medal Magnet costs 200.
        It allows you to collect medals easier by having them move back and forth rather than staying still.
        Purchased upgrades only last for your next play.
        When you die on that game you lose the upgrades.
        For this reason it makes sense to buy all upgrades at once.
        Heroes
        The game starts with you playing as RAMDO.
        BERNIE is unlockable after scoring 100 enemies defeated.
        IVAN is unlockable after scoring 250 enemies defeated.
        Mr. ZEE is unlockable after scoring 500 enemies defeated.
        SGT. PEPPER is unlockable after scoring 1,000 enemies defeated.
        The total enemy defeat count is cumulative across plays. It takes many plays through the game to defeat 1,000 enemies.
        Strategy
        Upgrades are consumable, so it is best not to buy any of them unless you can afford to buy all of them.
        When there are no enemies in the screen keep moving back and forth so you shoot them as they enter the screen.
        When an alien has spread shot try to shoot them when they are shooting with the off hand in between shots.
        The laser enemy builds up charge before shooting, so try to shoot at them from the left side opposite their laser cannon & shoot when they do not have shot charged up.
        Enemies move forward and backward around the screen in addition to left to right. If the enemy shoots periodically then it is best to fight them when they are in the top half of the screen rather than close to the bottom.
        After you get hit you are invincible for a short period of time. Try to attack aggressively while you are still invincible.
        Target Audience
        People of all ages who like arcade shooter games should like this game.
        The game has no adult content.
